Awards Ceremony

To further the mission to promote and advance the practice of horticultural therapy as a therapeutic intervention and rehabilitative modality, AHTA sponsors an annual awards program to recognize the contributions of individuals whose personal initiative and achievement define outstanding performance in the field. This year AHTA is proud to announce that we have award recipients for the following awards: Rhea McCandliss Professional Service Award, John Walker Community Service Award, AHTA Therapeutic Garden Design Award and the Ann Lane Mavromatis Scholarship. Award.  Recipients will be announced during this ceremony. Join us to celebrate the award recipients!

Charles A. Lewis Award Ceremony

The Charles A. Lewis Excellence in Research Award is given to research scientists who have published outstanding horticultural therapy research in a horticultural or medical journal. The award seeks to recognize contributions to evidence-based research that demonstrates the effectiveness of horticultural therapy. It also serves to increase awareness of research-based findings supporting the health benefits offered through horticulture.
